Pierside

Pierside is a stellar example of a dining venue that has stood the test of time. The gorgeous view of the harbour has evolved beautifully over the past decade, yet the pared down blondewood interiors of Pierside still exudes the sexiness and comfort that patrons associate the restaurant with when it first opened. Pierside’s menu, the work of Chef Robin Ho, has been updated to reflect a more source-driven approach to cater to an increasingly discerning clientele with an appeteite for sophistication.

Pierside is a stellar example of a dining venue that has stood the test of time. The gorgeous view of the harbour has evolved to include the silhouette of the Marina Bay Sands and the Helix Bridge, yet the pared down blondewood interiors of Pierside still exudes the sexiness and comfort that patrons associate the restaurant with when it first opened.

Pierside’s menu has been updated to reflect a more source-driven approach. In part, patrons have become more discerning and are more keen to know if they are being served a cut of kurobuta or berkshire. On the part of the chef, there is an understanding that a more deliberate and studied approach towards the knowledge of produce and sourcing can contribute to a more sophisticated menu.

While we toil tirelessly for chic venues doling out tasty offerings, the search for a chic venue where children blend right in can prove to be quite a tiring one. Smart, consistent and reliable, Pierside is also shaping up to be a lovely brunch venue for families with children. Patrons are given access to unlimited helpings from the à la carte menu, one which is filled with good old sunny favourites like the snapper pie with fennel and cumin spiced crab cakes with cucumber and chilli. Portions designed for sampling and sharing ensure that, among the kids, there are plenty of scrumptious ricotta hotcakes with honeycomb butter to go around.

At the breezy al fresco section, lazing and lingering is not only acceptable but also quite impossible to resist. The harbour, with its parade of boats adrift, provides just the perfect distraction for antsy children. Drinks in hand, it all looks picture-perfect as you revisit that memory of how beautiful Sunday can be.
